Context
Day of the Dead is approaching in Mexico, and a brand as renowned as Tequila Don Julio wants to create a high-impact activation that integrates their campaign concept with Mexican tradition. To achieve this, they commissioned the event production to the agency Sidetrack. In addition to producing a series of experiences for the activation, Sidetrack found voidXR to be the perfect partner to produce the video mapping show that will complement their entire proposal.
The Challenges
Technical Solution: What should you consider when choosing a venue for video mapping?
The challenge was finding a strategic location that showcases the content, gathers a large audience, and accommodates the technical requirements of a video projection. In selecting a corner facade, the solution had to cover multiple angles to ensure visibility from the main streets.
Content: What content should you create to make the brand culturally relevant?
The facade features a distinct architecture that required a tailored intervention to maximize the projection. The challenge was integrating a narrative that brings the tradition of an iconic holiday to life, leverages the architecture of the facade, and highlights the brand's values through the color palette of its "Eternos por amor" campaign.

The Solution
We designed a video mapping show on the facade of the Museo del Estanquillo in the heart of Mexico City. The 3-minute piece integrated the building's structure as a living part of the narrative, reinforcing the brand's identity and the Day of the Dead celebration. Sound design was key to the pacing, creating a multisensory experience.
Working alongside the agency, we established a timeline focused on key milestones requiring brand approval; clear communication throughout the process was essential to delivering on schedule.
The technical solution utilized high-power projectors to counter the ambient light pollution of the area. Additionally, because of the high-traffic, central location, the project demanded flawless production logistics.
